Alrighty,

I almost failed at this read-a-book-a-week challenge by procrastinating.

I decided, that instead of allowing myself to fail, I’ll read a short book.

Which is My Philosophy for Successful Living — Jim Rohn.

What insights did I gain from this 27 pager?

  1. Focus on your philosophy, it’s a big factor in your success.
  2. Forget about what other people do and what happens in the world, and here’s the big point about it — forget about the real or PERCIEVED problems. This is a big factor for me, instead of wondering if there really is a problem with someone, etc. I can focus on me, what do I want, what am I doing, how’s my progress. Seems better than wasting my mental energy on nonsense and blaming.
  3. When it comes down to it, the marketplace gives you money for the value you bring to it. Give more, get more. Become more, get more.
  4. Have multiple skills and constantly grow them. Learn more languages too.
  5. You can make some money with work, however, you can make a fortune by getting other people to work for you. Train them and give them work.
  6. Understand the fundamentals — Of your work. Of money. There are no “new” fundamentals.
  7. Develop your communication skills — It’s a major factor in work life and social life.
  8. Get in the habit of adding value — To your friends, to your family, etc. This can train you to be someone of value. Remember that people exchange money for whatever value you bring. Get in the habit of giving value.

That’s it.

I’m going to sleep now.

Until next time!

Thomas
