I recently experienced a sudden desire to immediately buy a heavy bag to condition my shins

betterer than I am currently with my DIY’d car tire boxing bag.

Why?

UFC 258, that’s why.

A strange incident happened.

See, back in 2013, the main event was Anderson Silva vs Chris Weidman.

And the fight ended abruptly when Silva snapped his shin bone when leg kicking Chris Weidman.

And, lo and behold, last week Chris Weidman broke his shin bone when leg kicking Uriah hall (who

happened to beat Anderson Silva in his last fight)?

One of the ways you make your shin bones strong is to simply kick a heavy bag over and over again

every day.

(Or if you feel like copying old school Muay Thai fighters you can kick banana trees).

I’m a big fan of kicking.

But my current stack of tires are too wide and limit the surface area coverage of my shin on the

tires. AND there’s the fact that they don’t have enough stability, they’re too bouncy.

After the Weidman incident, I immediately researched various long, heavy bags I could buy.

If it had been past payday I would have immediately ordered.

It’s been a week now and I’ve decided that money will be better invested elsewhere this month.

What’s the takeaway here besides the importance of shin conditioning?

The best time to take action on something is when you’re hot with the motivation, time cools the

fire down and logic makes way for reasons to delay.

’Til next time kids!
