Writing Failsafe

It’s 5:15 am and I’m looking at my laptop battery bar showing 35% with 14 minutes left, apparently.

Why don’t I just I just charge?

Because there’s been a power outage since the transformer in my neighbourhood blew up last Monday.

Fun times in South Africa.

I haven’t written properly in a week (besides long-hand journals).

So I’ve adapted my routine where I’ll charge my laptop and phones at Starbucks while working there and then using that charge to write the next morning.

I’ve got to adapt. I can’t let random shit get in the way of my main life goals.

The weird thing is it doesn’t feel like I haven’t written my usual volume that long. It feels like two days instead of seven.

This is where my habit tracker came in handy. It shows me the objective reality.

(Okay so now I’m at 29% battery with 21 minutes left…Okay?)

There are few things I hate in life than realizing how much I suck at writing after having returning after a long hiatus.

You have to wait for weeks until you get back in the flow.

It’s horrible.

I’ve now created two daily routines.

One for when there’s electricity and I can work from home the whole day and the other for times like these.

(Okay now the thing shows 33% with 35 minutes remaining. I need a new laptop).

That’s all for today.
